The Rt. Ex. Sir Grantley Herbert Adams. CMG, QC

April is Founders' Month for The Barbados Labour Party, We held our Founders' Day Service today (April 23rd) and we will have our family picnic on April 28th, National Heroes Day, and the birthday of our founder, The Rt. Ex. Sir Grantley Herbert Adams, CMG, QC.

Barbados has been blessed by and prospered under the leadership and sacrifice of Sir Grantley, The Rt. Ex. Errol Walton Barrow, The Rt. Hon. JMGM 'Tom" Adams and The Rt. Hon Owen Seymour Arthur, supported by the Cabinets they led. Those men and women guided Barbados through increasing levels of social, economic and political development. We do injustice to the vision, work and sacrifice of our past leaders, when we today blame and announce our disenchantment with 'the system'. Our challenge today, at its core, is a leadership problem, Rather than blame the system, we should decry, and look forward to punishing the ineptness and recklessness of the present Stuart, Sinckler and Inniss-led government. A government that has failed miserably in providing the leadership needed for mounting the appropriate responses to the challenges of our times. A leadership that has failed to function in ways to ensure our systems remained relevant to and effective in our times.

Continue to rest well Sir Grantley. You served your time with wisdom, foresight and commitment, and laid the foundation for the society and economy subsequent generations would come to enjoy. Be assured your Party, The Barbados Labour Party, again stands focused and ready to honor the excellent tradition of decisive and responsive leadership, for which you are our exemplar.
